Mal Emery Nearly Killed In Another Bike Accident

Mal Emery Nearly Killed In Another Bike Accident

bike-accident

I don’t know if you remember but a couple of years ago, my new bride and I went for a bicycle ride along the coast near our home.

To cut a long story short, she accidentally cut me off, took out my front wheel and sent me flying head first into the only power pole within half a mile.

If you just got the visuals on that, would you please stop laughing! It wasn’t funny at the time, I knocked myself half silly and ended up in the hospital.

The good news was I was wearing a helmet which took the brunt of the impact, in fact, cracked in 3 places. Anyway, I’m at it again!

On this particular work day for most, I was riding my bike again, on my own this time, so I can’t blame anyone else.

Anyway the plan was to get my wife to drop me and my bike off in the hills of Perth after which I was going to take my life in my hands and ride 30 odd kilometres home.

I actually made it literally within sight of my house before I came unstuck.

You see I was on a pedestrian and cycle way that led across traffic lights and as I approached the lights were green and clear to continue on.

Unfortunately, there was a grate (drain) where the road and pathway seamlessly met (no curbing).

All that’s good except the bars of the grate were running in the same direction as I was riding.

Usually in this situation, the grate has bars running both ways to create a crisscross effect.

Anyway, the council slipped up because the next thing I know, without any warning, my front wheel disappeared down a hole in the road, literally!

I found myself in a tangled mess held in by the stirrups on the pedals.

The good news is people rushed to help me because I did this with an audience. It was a major intersection, at least a 100 people could have seen me come unstuck.

I was pretty battered and bruised from the landing and the front of my bike was mangled.

I suppose the moral of the story is there’s lots of ways to die (kill yourself).

In this case, it was living my life of autonomy (personal and business), doing what I want, when I want, with whom I want and getting paid what I want.

Of course a lot of business owners have or literally kill themselves in business with little or nothing to show for it.

That’s a fact, by the way where most businesses are concerned.

Profits’ a bit like the Loch Ness monster, they’ve heard about it, read about it but they haven’t seen it yet.

Anyway, sorry for the long segue but there’s truth in what I’ve said.

Certainly the subject of autonomy caused a MASSIVE stir in my last blog and I promise to reveal another 5 Big KEYS for Achieving Compete and Utter Autonomy .

When you’ve read this lot, that’ll make a total of 10 Big KEYS for Achieving Complete and Utter Autonomy .

I’ll start here by listing the 5 here I’ve already written about but it would pay to re-read them again or read them if you missed them by referring back to my previous blog.

  1. IMMUNITY TO CRITICISM
  2. CLARITY OF PURPOSE
  3. CONSTANT EVALUATION AND RE-EVALUATION
  4. FIGURE OUT WHAT BUSINESS YOU’RE REALLY IN
  5. A COMPREHENSIVE COMPLEXED PROVEN AND TESTED MARKETING SYSTEM

Here’s the rest of the 10 Big KEYS for Achieving Complete and Utter Autonomy …

6. FAILURE TO IMPLEMENT

I’ve been asked many times, can I before the event pick the winners from the losers?

In other words, people who are going to use my stuff and go on to make millions of dollars, in fact achieve complete and utter autonomy from those who won’t.

The truth is 40+ years of doing this, I can’t tell the difference, although I know the commonalities which I am sharing here that are unique to folks who “do make it”.

One reason people fail is NOT because they don’t want to be successful. See I’ve asked 100s of people on numerous occasions, “Who in the room wants to make a million dollars in the next 12 months?” and frankly, literally no one opts out.

Even the most severely, morally handicapped where money is concerned, doesn’t opt out. I doubt a monk would opt out.

Quite clearly, people sadly get in the way of their own success.

Even when there is enormous proof that the “model” works, they find ways to screw it up.

Quite honestly, I’ve heard every excuse under the sun why people don’t implement, which leads me to Big KEY #7. It’s…

7. RICH PEOPLE BEHAVE DIFFERENTLY

For a start, thinking alone about being rich and having autonomy will not get you to your goal.

It takes much more than that. I promise you, you can sit under a tree thinking about “it” (goal setting) for half a lifetime and it simply won’t happen.

So here’s a list of things that separate rich from poor, success from struggle, those with autonomy from those without it.
They’re in no particular order and there’s more of them than I have room for here.

  • Obviously I’d need to list all of the keys above… and they do defy industry norm because they don’t want to be mediocre and average like the masses.
  • They do have clarity of purpose and have bigger, bolder plans for themselves and others.
  • They hang around with people who cheer them on, not with people who would prefer for their own preservation that you fail
  • They belong to a “mastermind” of like-minded people who ask more of them than they ask of themselves.
  • They often spend money and do things like go to seminars to improve their situation, knowledge and skills while being roundly ridiculed and criticised by lesser mortals individuals.

Frankly, the life of an entrepreneur is one of the loneliest places on the planet.

  • They stick to things long enough to “get it”, while most are like fleas jumping to the next passing dog in search of the “next big thing” or “next big shiny object”.
  • Most people want a “magic pill” when it mostly doesn’t exist.
  • They are in the right “vehicle” (your business) for success (get rich) while other less successful folk use a wealth creation “vehicle” that has little or no practical reason for being successful.

In other words, it was flawed in the first place and you finish out flogging your guts out, inching the ball down the field day after day and being exhausted in the process.

STOP IT! For God’s sake, STOP IT.

Choice of right wealth creation “vehicle” is responsible for at least 50% of your success.

  • They have a comprehensive, reliable, predictable and profitable marketing and sales system and it’s the key to the money vault.

The less successful folk think having the best product or service is their passport to financial freedom. Never has been never will be.

Money is plastic. It has no conscience. It doesn’t care if you’re a priest or pornographer.

  • They’ve made the shift from business owner to marketer and then to entrepreneur.

All this has gone on longer than I anticipated. I’ll reveal the final 3 Big KEYS for Achieving Complete and Utter Autonomy in the next blog.

I’ll wrap it up now by inviting you to my new series of 3 hour evening seminars in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth early next month.

The subject of which will be…

“The Secrets to Creating a 7-Figure Income and Achieving Complete and Utter Autonomy”

Quite honestly, I don’t know anyone more qualified to teach this subject than me in this country, simply because I’ve achieved it for myself and more importantly, helped many others do the same, most of whom without my help would still be struggling to figure it out on their own.

I promise this event will go way beyond a trick or two that will bump your bank account temporarily and satisfy you momentarily.

In fact it will not be for the faint hearted. It will be uncensored truth about what it really takes to achieve financial freedom, peace of mind and autonomy in a business world turned upside down.

I hope to see you ALL there.

All the best,
Mal

P.S. If a bald guy with a strong resemblance to me ever asks you if you want to go for a bike ride, I’d decline the offer graciously, unless of course, you like taking your life in your hands. 🙂

P.P.S. If you think I was a bit dramatic about being killed riding a pushbike, trust me, it happens.

I even have a friend who became a paraplegic when her carbon fibre front forks (these hold the front wheel in place) on her bike broke after hitting a stick.
