So, is Mal Emery really a “Has Been”?

Recently, when mentioning my name to an associate friend or family member, a potential client was told…
“Mal Emery is a ‘has been’ from the 80’s”…
Now that advice she received might have merit and it might not…
But it did give rise to my response below… which you might find compelling reading.
Read on to discover my “in your face” response to the accusation that I am a “has been of the 80’s”
Hi [name withheld for privacy reasons],
Who knows… maybe they are right!
But let’s review the facts in no particular order…
- A brand-new business I started just 19 months ago is turning over $55k – $60k a week
- That business is valued at $1.5 – $1.75 million… not bad for a “has been”
- My accountant calculated the return on investment on this business is 57%, not bad considering it’s been documented that the world’s greatest investor, Warren Buffet’s return on investment since 1960’s is 21.7%, not bad for a “has been”
- I don’t work one minute in that business and I get a massive cheque from it every month
- I have currently 4 other businesses in various stages of growth, mostly that work without me
- All these businesses are operating now in this chaotic global economy, so I am obvious still current
- I have coached and mentored hundreds of thousands of business owners nationally and internationally
- 4 years ago, I sold Australia’s largest and highest paying business coaching program for a record sum, not bad for a “has been”.
- I still have a bunch of clients that pay me a King’s ransom for my personal coaching and mentoring and they seek me out, I don’t chase anybody
- I run some of the biggest marketing events this country has ever seen and I have bought some of the biggest names to this country. In fact, arguably, I pioneered the seminar business in Australia and I am copied by many today
- Only a few months ago, I was asked to take to the stage with Arnold Schwarzenegger, fancy two “has been’s” together
- Last year I spoke on stage with the very famous Gary Vaynerchuk
- 7 years ago, I was invited to speak on stage with Donald Trump, Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki and T Harv Eker
- In 2013, I did several speaking engagements with Sir Richard Branson and Mark Bouris
- Recently, I have just been asked to speak in Australia with a Hollywood A lister who I can’t reveal here
- No one in this country can come close to me as the “coach of the coaches”
- No one in this country can come close to my Mastery of Marketing, Sales, Copywriting, Speaking on your Feet and Business strategy
- I have personally started, bought, built and sold something close to 30 businesses
- I am a self-made, from scratch multi-millionaire and I wasn’t part of the “lucky sperm club” who inherited their wealth
- I have arguably more documented proof where I have helped more people become millionaires and multi-millionaires in this country than anyone else
- I have 5 best-seller books in the bookstores and one was an International Best Seller
- In 2005 I was inducted into the League of Extraordinary Marketers, judged by my peers in the US.
- I have created 100’s of hours of products all to do with business, marketing, sales, copywriting and speaking on your feet
- The diversity of my skills are unmatched by anyone in this country, almost anyone on the planet in the area of business
- My employees, contractors and suppliers stay with me for decades and are loyal and loving towards me
- My best friends today, where I am much loved and adored, began as clients
- Finally, I am a normal, everyday humble (when I want to be) guy and I haven’t got my head up my own ass!
Not bad for a “HAS BEEN!”
Good luck finding anyone that comes close to that lot!
Of course, these “has been” naysayers miss the point and what they say is often self-serving to themselves and the fraud they bestow on others…
The point they miss is that “Principals” will never ever change… even in a thousand years from now.
And everything I do in business is based on “Principals” not just tactics and strategies.
Why is this such a big deal you might ask?
Because every day in business and in life we are dealing with the 1,000 year old reptilian brain!!
And I am a master on giving the reptilian brain what it wants!
Hence everything I teach, or almost everything, is timeless which in turn, makes me and what I teach timeless.
When I say self-serving, the people that put me down usually sell false promises and “get rich quick” tactics and strategies that might bump your bank account momentarily and excite you temporarily, but are unsustainable.
Then you are on the merry-go-round and jump like fleas to the next passing dog as you are attracted to the next shiny object!
Don’t mistake anything of what I have written as me being offended… In fact, it is the opposite and I have enjoyed making this list and I was inspired by the accusation levelled at me that I am a “has been of the 80’s”.
I might make it public sometime soon!
I appreciate the fact that you formed your own opinion anyway in my defence.
By the way, that Fast Track to Millions product you have was recorded just a few years ago and about 100 people attended and paid me I think a couple of grand to do so.
At the end, the whole room stood and applauded my work.
Not bad for a “Has Been” of the 80s!
I wish you well in your endeavours!
All the best,
Mal
There you have it my friends, I’ll let you form your own opinion now!
My final piece of advice is, don’t seek help and pay money to any would be coach or mentor who can’t match or improve on my list above.
Maybe you can use this list as your litmus test for who you do and don’t pay money to.
My personal litmus test is they (potential coach or mentor) must be earning at least 5 times my income.
I wish you well in 2018, but don’t expect any undeserved success… those days are gone forever!
All the Best,
